You like coffee?

I love my coffee. Ook Stones Throw blijkbaar, want ze komen met een wel heel erg bijzondere samenwerking. Het Ethiopische Intelligentsia stuurde het label een tijd geleden een mailtje of ze koffie konden waarderen. Toen dat (vooral door koffieliefhebber pur sang Madlib) bevestigd werd, stuurde het koffiemerk ze speciale blends toe, gebaseerd op de artiesten van Stones Throw. En nu is er dus een een nieuw album van huisproducer Oh No, geinspireerd op een koffieboon! Nice, huh? 

Oh No stelde een heel fijn album samen, getiteld Ethiopium, gebaseerd op funk en Ethiopische jazz. En daarbij krijg je ook een pakket organische Ethiopische koffie, waarmee je de boeren steunt. Ik mag van Stones Throw het album Ethiopium weggeven. Winnen? Stuur me dan even een mail. Geen probleem. Ik drink die koffie wel op.

Major Lazer

Major Lazer Producer Diplo, die het de laatste tijd druk heeft met het geven van moeilijke peace signs maar die je ook kent van de albums van M.I.A, komt met een nieuw muzikaal project. Hij doet dit samen met DJ Switch. Eind juni verschijnt onder het alterego Major Lazer het album Guns Don't Kill People, But Lazers Do. Een soort reggae, dancehall 21e eeuw-trip met vrouwelijke oorlogsveteranen als M.I.A. en Santigold achter de microfoon. Het album werd opgenomen in diverse Jamaicaanse studio’s. Dan weet je als het goed is hoe laat het is.

Giving Away ADE Tickets

Giving Away ADE Tickets Van 21 t/m 24 oktober is het Amsterdam Dance Event in volle gang. Nou zijn er talloze events waar je echt niet gezien wil worden. Maar er is hoop, met dank aan Vice Magazine. Want zij nodigen vrijdag 23 oktober in samenwerking met G-Shock het label Gomma Dance Tracks uit.
