Visual Summaries III

We Are Scientists and the rules of partying

14.05

Posted in Music

This is part III of visual Summaries, our collabo with photographer Marc Deurloo, where you meet bands through exclusive photography and fresh tracks of their latest album. New York-based indie band We Are Scientists are about to release their new album Barbara. Keith Murray and Chris Cain originally took influence from bands such as The Rapture, Franz Ferdinand and David Bowie, with much of the lyrical content derived from partying in NYC. Go listen to their new single Rules Don’t Stop while you watch the Visual Summaries, all after the jump. Previous editions: Hef and Liars.

We Are Scientists - Rules Don’t Stop

“When bands play new material, people’s eyes tend to glaze over a little bit…and they’re thinking: maybe it’s time to go to the toilet”

We Are Scientists - Lethal Enforcer

“During our tour we drink lots of beer and whisky, get drunk every night, wake up in the afternoon totally hangovered and start playing the same night. After that, we get drunk. Again”

We Are Scientists - In Action

“We tend to not be particularly goal orientated towards record sales”

“Thanks for the quotes”: Peterborough Today, There Goes The Fear, Kindamuzik
