Digital Playground

Crazy Birds started out as a digital business card for Amsterdam based entrepreneur Gijs van der Togt, trained as an urban sociologist and experienced in media, concept development and (copy) writing. After working for several media companies, the urge to develop something new emerged. Crazy Birds, a daily updated digital playground for a savvy audience was born. Nowadays fuelled with help from contributors in media, music, fashion and art.

There’s no good content without smart partnerships. For us, collaboration is crucial. Therefore, we are always on the look out for promising artists creating new, exciting things. Crazy Birds is a platform for advertising agencies, media companies, record companies and ofcourse brands to highlight their products. Do mind we only curate good things. Meet Mayer Hawthorne

When we found out promising soul artist Mayer Hawthorne was in town, we got excited and decided to do a short film about him with help from our friends at Mamamess and Rush Hour.

We strongly believe in content-driven short films, made from the heart. Because we discovered this artist in an early stage, the amount of attention from various print magazines and internet-media was overwhelming.

Deze week tip ik je mijn beste albums van het jaar. Dit is misschien wel zijn beste album in vijf jaar. De man met het kenmerkende masker, de onnavolgbare aliassen en beruchte fake shows doet op Born Like This weer waar hij goed in is. Hard ratelen over ondergrondse beats, jaloersmakend voor menig rapper. Zo liet Jay-Z in een interview eerder dit jaar weten DOOM te willen zijn. Probeer een track als Gazzillion Ear feat. Kanye West (on the phone) maar eens. Meer…

Op dit nieuwe album vind je minder cartoonverwijzingen, het geheel is minder luchtig. De Engelse rapper in Amerikaanse dienst heeft duidelijk zijn duistere kant ontdekt. Maar het staat hem. Al koop je dit jaar slechts een hiphopalbum, laat het dan deze zijn. Ook nog eens goed voor je straatcrediet. Born Like This van DOOM beluister je op iTunes.

Ik ben het helemaal met je eens. Dit is een top cd van een top mc. Ik heb nog nooit iemand zulke rhymes horen zetten als dit masker!! en dat hij anderen laat optreden voor hem vind ik wel grappig aangezien hij zelf al vaker heeft aangegeven niets in live shows te zien. Alleen omdat de vraag zo groot is stuurt hij af enb toe is wat mannetjes met maskers op pad en soms is het gewoon zelf!! wel grappig toch behalve als je een kaartje voor net die ene fake show heb gekocht!!
