Via Audioculture stuitte ik op een oude Aardvarck mix waarin hij laat zien z’n beats klassiekers te kennen. Denk aan Cinnaman, Steve Spaces, Harmonic 313 en Flying Lotus. Laatstgenoemde staat vanavond tijdens Viral Radio in Trouw. 

Het is alweer een tijd geleden dat Aardvarck een album heeft uitgebracht. Ik sprak hem laatst, hij heeft nieuwe dingen voor ons in petto. No worries.

Visita x Ghettoblaster Soundsystem Je kent me. Ik ben altijd wel in voor een fijne mixtape. Ook al is het vandaag natuurlijk geen mixtape friday. Dat weet jij, dat weet ik. Maar goed: Ghettoblaster Soundsystem dus. Een Rotterdamse crew, die voor Bacardi Visita een wel erg fijne mix maakte.

Bicycle Blues

Bicycle Blues Afgelopen weekend ben ik sinds tijden weer eens in cafe Pakhuis Wilhelmina geweest. Was een prima ervaring, zeker omdat we champagne bij binnenkomst kregen. Het was sowieso een goed weekend, het was immers Sinterklaas. Daar kan je onmogelijk op haten. Wel op die fietsendief die mijn fiets heeft gejat zaterdag. Dus zie je een fiets met daarop een hoop Crazy Birds stickers, stuur me even een mail. Maar goed: shorties. Het nieuwe album van Common, die je hier kunt vinden, valt tegen. Check hier trouwens een interview van Lupe Fiasco met de rapper. En dan beluister je hier Fela Kuti’s bewerking van Jay-Z’s Sweet. En dan ben je klaar; want het is komkommertijd in de muziekindustrie momenteel. Ondertussen zie ik op mijn Twones (alleen voor leden nog, maar bij Nalden.net haal je invites) dat ik Kanye West's 808's wel heel erg in de heavy rotation heb staan. Maar van Erik mag ik het niet meer over Kanye hebben. Na de jump een preview van Maarten Kal's docu over de Nederlandse producer Arjuna Schiks.
