Weinig woorden, meer dan genoeg nieuwe nummers. Afgelopen maandag eigenlijk gepland. Maar goed, ik wist dat er vandaag bijzondere dingen uit zouden komen. Zoals Alicia Keys, die op Empire State of Mind II het nummer in een herkansing gooit. Maar ook met Floating Points, die Sebastien Tellier’s L’Amour et la Violence verbouwd. Er is een buzz rondom de band Yeasayer (zie foto), vooral in Engeland. Ik moet er nog een beetje inkomen, maar Ambling Up is wel een hele interessante track. Lupe Fiasco komt binnenkort met een nieuw album uit, getiteld Lasers. Morgen komt hij met een speciale mixtape, daarvan komt zijn Angel (remix) van Dirty Money. Een van de tracks van het moment. Meer shorties…

J*DaVeY komt ook met een nieuwe track: Outta the Window. Weet jij welke sample daarin wordt gebruikt, reageer dan even. Beluister hierna Bloc Party met Where is Home (Burial remix). Je sluit af met Lykke Li, die de Shirelles klassieker Will You Still Love me Tomorrow covert. Tot slot: Joy Orbison. Een jonge producer die ik in de gaten houd. Beluister even BRKLN CLLN.

Under Your Tree 2/3 Deel twee van mijn kerstspecial, ofwel de albums die je gerust onder je boom kunt neerleggen. Omdat ik niet wil dat je volgende week met lege handen staat en je vrienden opstapelt met een Kerst greatest hits album. Volgende week kom ik met mijn laatste favorieten van 2008. Ho, ho.

Abundance

Abundance Bijna weekend, waarin ik op zaterdag Metro Area ga checken. Cop hier je kaartjes. Vandaag krijg je wat shorties van me om deze regenachtige dag door te komen. Chad Hugo – hij lijkt aardiger dan hij in werkelijkheid is – speelt op de klarinet Jay-Z’s Roc Boys. Bekijk je hier de optredens die ondermeer Jay-Z en Kanye West voor Obama gaven en hier Q-Tip die bij Conan O’Brien was. Check Q-Tip trouwens ook op Twitter. Had ik je trouwens al verteld dat het nieuwe album van The Platinum Pied Pipers erg goed is? Abundance heet het, binnenkort een first hand review. Leuk om te lezen dat cats als Jay Bordeaux en Marcus Sebastian dit blog volgen. Big up? Big up!
