Digital Playground

Crazy Birds started out as a digital business card for Amsterdam based entrepreneur Gijs van der Togt, trained as an urban sociologist and experienced in media, concept development and (copy) writing. After working for several media companies, the urge to develop something new emerged. Crazy Birds, a daily updated digital playground for a savvy audience was born. Nowadays fuelled with help from contributors in media, music, fashion and art.

There’s no good content without smart partnerships. For us, collaboration is crucial. Therefore, we are always on the look out for promising artists creating new, exciting things. Crazy Birds is a platform for advertising agencies, media companies, record companies and ofcourse brands to highlight their products. Do mind we only curate good things. Meet Mayer Hawthorne

When we found out promising soul artist Mayer Hawthorne was in town, we got excited and decided to do a short film about him with help from our friends at Mamamess and Rush Hour.

We strongly believe in content-driven short films, made from the heart. Because we discovered this artist in an early stage, the amount of attention from various print magazines and internet-media was overwhelming.

Shorties, omdat er zoveel muziek uitkomt en jij geen tijd hebt om het uit te checken. Maar ik wel, want ik zit er op. Kid Cudi doet het samen met Vampire Weekend op Cudderisback. Hot Chip komt binnenkort met een nieuw album. Daarvan komt de gelijknamige track One Life Stand. Tsja, en dan Flying Lotus (zie foto) & Lil’ Wayne. Je zou het niet verwachten, maar ze doen het samen op Weezy, A Milli & I Feel Like Dying. Meer…

Er is een buzz rondom de band Memory Tapes, dat doet denken aan Neon Indian. Beluister even Swimming Field, dan begrijp je wat ik bedoel. Vergeet ook niet het Australische bandje Van She (zie foto) te controleren. Don’t Fear the Reaper is een cover van Blue Oyster Cult.
