Shorties op maandag. Mijn selectie muziek voor deze week, speciaal voor jou. Singer songwriter Anya Marina komt met de T.I. cover Whatever You Like. Stones Throw producer Madlib bracht onlangs The Paper uit, een track om zijn nieuwe albumserie The Madlib Medicine Show te promoten. Het folky Black Smoke van de Tindersticks is mijn track van deze week. Ook goed: The Field’s single (met ultieme titel) I Have The Moon, You Have The Internet (Gold Panda remix). Lees verder voor nog meer shorties.

Snoop Dogg komt met een nieuwe track I Wanna Rock, met een oldskool jasje. En ik ben ook nog steeds erg gelukkig met No Love Lost van LCD Soundsystem, een cover van Joy Division. Tot slot: Hot Chip met Sexual Healing. En DJ Shadow die het op 6 Days met Mos Def doet.

    Love the LCD Soundsystem track, that's a true cover. Can't hate. But what about Snoop Dogg. That sounds like he's on crack?

The Abstract’s back

The Abstract’s back Omdat ik weet dat je je nu al loopt te verheugen op het feit dat Q-Tip binnenkort in Paradiso staat. De Amerikaans dj en remixer J.Period stelde zijn favoriete Q-Tip’s tracks samen. Daarop zijn ook nieuwe tracks te vinden van Questlove, Busta Rhymes, Talib Kweli, Blu en Kid Cudi. I’m Sorry, Kyteman

I’m Sorry, Kyteman Begin dit jaar schreef ik niet zo positief over Kyteman, waarna Colin Benders mij een mailtje stuurde wat ik dan niet goed aan zijn muziek vond. Dat vond ik sterk; opbouwende kritiek is niet weggelegd voor alle artiesten. Ik schreef daarop The Media and a Kyteman, waar vervolgens een aantal journalisten over vielen. In die tijd was Colin Benders nog relatief onbekend, inmiddels is zijn muziek door heel Nederland omarmd.
