No ordinary boogie! Ik val niet graag in herhaling, maar de Skip Intro mix #5 van monsieur O.Boogie is gewoon onmisbaar in je bibliotheek. Ook was ik dit weekend op zoek naar een meer uptempo remix van The XX. Het is de Basic Space (Pariah remix) geworden. Tsja, en dan rapper The Game. Die gaat helemaal niet lekker op Better Days en Krazy feat. Gucci Mane. Met op die laatste track opnieuw tergende beats van Timbaland. Benieuwd of zijn album R.E.D. nog wat wordt. Maar er is meer..

Je zou ook eens naar Florence and the Machine moeten luisteren. Zo is Dog Days are Over niet te missen. En dan kan je de week weer in met genoeg muziek.

Ones to watch in 2009: Mayer Hawthorne

Ones to watch in 2009: Mayer Hawthorne Het belooft een mooi muzikaal jaar te worden met naast nieuw talent ook een aantal comebacks. Wie moet jij in de gaten houden? First off: Mayer Hawthorne, een not-so average soulzanger getekend op het Amerikaanse Stones Throw label maakte al indruk met de single Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out, hevig geplugged door niemand minder dan Mark Ronson. Labeleigenaar Peanut Butter Wolf had slechts twee nummers nodig om hem een contract aan te bieden. Meer over Hawthorne na de jump.
