Digital Playground

Crazy Birds started out as a digital business card for Amsterdam based entrepreneur Gijs van der Togt, trained as an urban sociologist and experienced in media, concept development and (copy) writing. After working for several media companies, the urge to develop something new emerged. Crazy Birds, a daily updated digital playground for a savvy audience was born. Nowadays fuelled with help from contributors in media, music, fashion and art.

There’s no good content without smart partnerships. For us, collaboration is crucial. Therefore, we are always on the look out for promising artists creating new, exciting things. Crazy Birds is a platform for advertising agencies, media companies, record companies and ofcourse brands to highlight their products. Do mind we only curate good things. Meet Mayer Hawthorne

When we found out promising soul artist Mayer Hawthorne was in town, we got excited and decided to do a short film about him with help from our friends at Mamamess and Rush Hour.

We strongly believe in content-driven short films, made from the heart. Because we discovered this artist in an early stage, the amount of attention from various print magazines and internet-media was overwhelming.

Ik geef het graag toe. Al jaren heb ik een haat-liefde verhouding met R. Kelly. Zo vond ik zijn Trapped in the Closet project heel tof, en zijn Ignition en Contagious natuurlijk belachelijk goede tracks.

Maar hij maakt ook vaak dingen, die gewoon niet te doen zijn. Je schaamt je eigenlijk kapot tijdens het luisteren. Neem nou Pregnant, waarin hij zich (laten we het vriendelijk zeggen) niet echt populair bij de vrouwen maakt. Put that girl in the kitchen? Kapot gaan heeft na het luisteren van dit nummer een nieuwe dimensie gekregen.

Nog meer niet te doen slechte R. Kelly tracks gehoord? Ik houd me aanbevolen..
