Whoop there it is! Van O.Boogie kreeg ik deze week de Skip Intro! mix binnen, van de gelijknamige avond in de Amsterdamse Club 8. Dus delete de woorden hip, trendy of fashionista uit je geheugen en skip deze mix even door. Verder las ik op A-Trak’s blog op The Fader dat hij een fijne tijd met Kanye in de studio had, Soulwax en Japanse hotels best wel tof vindt. Na de klik zie je de next level eighties video van Q-Tip.

Q-Tip (Move, 2008)

Check trouwens hier even de Pitchfork 500 waarin ze de 500 beste tracks op een rij zetten. Soort van top 40 dus, alleen dan anders. Verder ben ik nou niet echt fan van rapper Kempi, maar vond ik het nummer en de clip van Stratiblues wel aardig. Het IDFA zal trouwens een Frans Bromet retrospectief uitzenden. Ik ben fan, dus daar kan je me vinden.

Shady Boejoe Mixtape

Shady Boejoe Mixtape De Amsterdamse deejay Shady support dit blog, door regelmatig een mixtape met mooi artwork uit te brengen. Het hoesje komt dit keer van Menno Mans, die het vogelthema een heel nieuwe dimensie geeft. Nou ben ik gek op nieuwe muziek, maar soms is het goed het verleden te eren. Dat dacht Shady ook.

Shorties Monday

Shorties Monday Nieuwe muziek in vogelvlucht. Nas en Damian Marley doen het samen op die hele weirde track getiteld Strong Will Continue. Toch wel een van mijn favoriete rappers Raekwon beleeft een witte kerst met de filosofisch getitelde mixtape Coke Up in da Dollar. Meer mixtapes, dit keer de FACT mix van Bullion.
