This is obviously not what Apple had in mind for the iPad. Who cares, the tyPad is a super-sleek leatherette case with a built-in Bluetooth wireless keyboard. Savvy.
Roots Manuva meets Wrongtom

When British rapper Roots Manuva (yep, the Witness the Fitness guy) releases a new album, we’re all ears. Well, it’s not really ‘new’, while his new partner in crime Wrongtom decided to re-imagine each tracks as if his re-work was in fact the original version of the tune from a previous decade. Go fire up the barbecue, catch a parrot, carry out whatever cliched act of Carribeanism you can think of and have a listen to one of the dub flavoured tracks. After that, find more about Wrongtom, via an exclusive interview by Intruders. All after the jump. By the way, we enjoyed and fully endorse this album. Go get your copy on iTunes.
The original disco redux by Machine

Every now and then we receive an invitation for a night we simply can’t refuse. Mark Klaverstijn is part of Machine, a design collective based in Amsterdam, probably one of the best around. Well, Mark is also a deejay with a profound love for classic underground seventies vintage disco. His new night is entitled PHASE 2 (videoflyer), this Friday at the infamous Amsterdam club UP. The good news? We are throwing away some guestlist spots for this fresh night. Tell us why disco isn’t dead, send us a disco flavoured photograph and we’ll write your name on the list. Last but not least, to get into that disco sound, listen to two Phase 2 mixes, one compiled by Mark the Machine and another one by Xavier Perec. Both in a stream after the jump.

Missed us? After a great holiday, with Theophilius London’s I Want You mix on high rotation, it’s time to get busy with new music and cool things. Well, via Fact Magazine we received a great tape, mixed by Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet with some cool, experimental but still jazzy stuff on it. This guy always surprises us with interesting new sounds. Hey, it’s good to be back! Download, or a stream after the jump.

This week we arranged another special around our Future Nest podcast series. Guido van Dieren (the guy on the right) equals quality music in Rotterdam. He is the founder of Strange Fruit, an event that focusses on true artists only. For example, this weekend Guido asked keyboard wizzard Dorian Concept to perform at his night. So what to expect at Strange Fruit? Well, have a listen to a playlist he compiled especially for us. With Parliament, Tom Browne, Hypno and Eric Lau on board, his selection is the choice of a true connaisseur. Good vibes! Download his selection and don’t forget to check the tracklist. Classic material.
